a special message from Gordon
Dear Tuesday Night Jazz Friends Gordon here. It’s hard to believe that it’s been 7 years this month since Kelby and I co-founded Tuesday Night Jazz at the Church. This week's ENews to you is packed with important messages and a new upload of the Phil Dwyer Trio recorded just a few weeks ago, and of course the lineup for this coming Tuesday. I ask that you take a few moments (maybe 15 minutes) to give the whole enews your full attention. In the past 7 years, we have served thousands of concert goers, invested in our local and touring talent weekly (even throughout the pandemic) and created a magical space in James Bay where community is nurtured around a weekly artistic event. While James Bay United Church in full measure was responsible for seeing the opportunity and for creating space for this magic, every single one of us had a hand in making it happen. This year the James Bay United Church Board is asking all of us to consider making a future pledge to support all of the infrastructure that is ‘church’. A pledge is simply you thinking ahead about what you can contribute to the bigger picture in 2026. It helps us plan. It helps us maintain our buildings and equipment. It helps us see where there is future opportunity and lean into in - the same way we did, fearlessly, when we embarked on our Tuesday Night Jazz at the Church journey. And look at how far we have come. In the links below, yes, enjoy Phil Dwyer’s version of “Bean and the Boy’s”, plan to attend next Tuesday with the Trad Jazz All-Stars and check out the Thursday Lunch folks Ai generated Halloween song at the end. But I ask that you also click through the information about the Church’s Pledge Drive for 2026 and give consideration for how you can help us build this community into the future. With great respect, See you on Tuesday, Gordon Miller Letter to You from the Church Board Online Pledge Form (direct link) For more infomation visit: https://www.jamesbayunited.com/pages/fall-pledge-campaign-2025
