Mark and Angela moved from NW Calgary and St. Thomas United Church to James Bay six months ago. Since arriving, they’ve joined the James Bay Community Choir, attended several Tuesday Night Jazz concerts, and found the congregation of James Bay United Church to be especially welcoming and friendly. They describe the church as a true community gem. Now that they’re feeling more settled in the area, it felt like the right time to transfer their membership to their local United Church.
Their daughter, Marika, is married to Reid and works as a veterinarian in Spruce Grove, Alberta. Their son, Karl, is completing a PhD in Chemical and Biomedical Engineering in Toronto.
Both Mark and Angela officially retired three years ago. Angela spent 33 years working in the Open Heart Surgery unit at the Foothills Hospital, while Mark, an electrical engineer, worked in various communications and software companies before running his own small business for the final five years of his career.
