From a very young age, Leonard Cohen’s songs have given Sophia Ammann a sense of home. In her career as a singer and songwriter Cohen’s work has always been a great inspiration. Today she offers you her interpretation of some of her favorite Cohen songs as well as a premiere of her solo debut work.

Sophia Ammann is a Belgian-based singer with Canadian roots. The past ten years, she’s been active as a front singer of bands Little Dots and Ansatz der Maschine.
Ammann has toured in Belgium and abroad, in the Netherlands, Nepal (2018), and in 2017 a small tour in Canada was well received with national airplay on the CBC. With her latest Leonard Cohen project, Sophia was happy to play in many sold out churches throughout Flanders from 2019-2021.
Ready to forge her path as a solo artist, she will be putting out her solo debut shortly. Sophia brings quirky Indie songs that tell a story, with folk and country influences. She has a rich sense of imagery and likes to take inspiration from magic realism for her lyrics.
