Two of Vancouver Island's finest guitarists Jesse Marshall & Misha Smirnov present an evening of solo & duo performances. Jesse & Misha were recently finalists in the 2026 Northwest Guitar Festival, hosted here in Victoria.
Jesse Marshall is a guitarist and composer from Nanaimo, BC. Active as a freelance guitarist since 2013, career highlights include performances at the Nanaimo Jazz Festival, Nanaimo Guitar Showcase, and Island Notes Chamber Music Festival. Jesse recently completed a masters degree in classical guitar performance at the University of Victoria. Previously, he completed B. Mus. and B. Ed. degrees at Vancouver Island University and a masters degree in jazz performance from the University of Toronto.
A finalist in the Northwest Guitar Festival, Misha Smirnov began studying the guitar at age 10 in Russia, when he fell in love with the magic of its sound. He is an active local performer who is known for his warm tone and inspired interpretations.
