The Board has been working for some time to determine options regarding re-opening of the James Bay United Church space. The Thrift Shop Leadership Team presented a well-thought out plan for a phased re-opening. Phase one includes online sales and donation days in the driveway.  (Phase two is under development and will limit use of the Thrift Shop house to two rooms and spread to the open area of lower level hall of the church building.)

The Board considered the completed Phase 1 Plan and the proposed Phase 2 space request and determined that this approach would be a good re-opening strategy. The reasons for this choice were first, that the Thrift Shop is an outreach ministry of the church and a positive connection with the community, and secondly, that the Thrift Shop Leadership Team’s plans comply with the COVID-19 health and safety protocols required by WorkSafe BC, the Provincial Ministry of Health, and the Pacific Mountain Regional Council of the United Church.

We are pleased to support this outreach work of our church volunteers.
