Do you enjoy working with food, learning new techniques, and being part of something that feeds both body and soul?
We’re looking for a Wednesday afternoon volunteer to help prepare our beloved Community Lunch, served each Thursday at James Bay United Church. You’ll be working alongside two experienced volunteers – a professional chef and an assistant – in a relaxed, friendly setting to prepare a three-course, restaurant-quality meal for 70 guests.
Details:
Wednesdays, 12:00 – 2:30 pm
James Bay United Church lower hall (access via back patio)
This lunch, now in its third year, has become a highlight of the week for many in our neighbourhood. The food is excellent, the atmosphere warm, and the connections made around the table are truly nourishing.
The meal is free or by donation, supported by generous grants from the Victoria Foundation and other funders.
If you’re interested in joining the prep team, please contact Joanne Keelan at 250-650-2748 (text or call).
